StriVectin Review

StriVectin is a skincare brand that offers skincare solutions to aging and mature skin types. StriVectin skincare products are powered by NIA 114, a proprietary form of niacin, a form of vitamin B3, to strengthen the skin barrier and help you achieve a more youthful-looking complexion.

I’ve wanted to try StriVectin products for quite a while, so I purchased some of their tightening and firming products and will discuss my experience in this StriVectin review.

I also decided to purchase the full-size version of Strivectin Crepe Control Tightening Body Cream because I’ve heard great things about it and wanted to see what it can do for the crepey skin on my body, especially my arms!

Let’s start with StriVectin products for the face:

The serum uses two different types of peptides, StriVectin’s proprietary NIA 114 (myristyl nicotinate, an oil-soluble derivative of niacin/vitamin B3) to support the skin barrier, and botanical extracts to tighten and brighten the skin while improving firmness and elasticity.

This serum is ideal for sagging skin, skin discolorations, and dark spots.

Tetrapeptide-21 combines glycine, glutamic acid, lysine, glycine, and four amino acids that, per the manufacturer, help boost hyaluronic acid and collagen production and reduce the look of wrinkles and roughness.

Acetyl Hexapeptide-1 helps protect against free radical damage from sun exposure and brightens and evens skin tone.

Terminalia ferdinandiana (Kakadu Plum) fruit extract from Australia offers potent antioxidant benefits, as it contains the highest natural source of vitamin C, 100 times that of an orange.

It also brightens the skin and improves skin clarity and radiance.

Japanese honeysuckle flower extract is anti-inflammatory and soothes the skin.

Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract and Helianthus annuus (sunflower) extract have anti-inflammatory benefits and are antioxidants. Licorice root extract helps brighten the skin.

Vitamin E protects against UVB rays. Ceramide NG hydrates and supports a healthy skin barrier.

This lightweight serum almost feels like a silky lotion for the face. It is rich and moisturizing.

I enjoyed using it in my nighttime skincare routine, but it left my combination skin a bit too dewy when used in the morning under makeup.

Also, the fragrance was a bit strong for my liking, which could irritate those with sensitive skin.

This serum didn’t wow me. While I believe in the power of peptides, there are much less expensive options.

Also, due to the dewy finish, I think this serum might be better suited for those with dry skin.

It targets the look of eyelid crepiness, firmness, and elasticity above the eye, lines and wrinkles around the eyes, and under-eye bags and puffiness.

This fragrance-free eye serum contains Dipeptide-2, which is made up of the amino acids valine and tryptophan, which target under-eye bags.

Nicotiana Benthamiana Octapeptide-30 sh-Oligopeptide-2 (quite a mouthful of a name!), also known as Scelleye, reduces crow’s feet and dark circles under the eyes. Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 contains a four amino acid chain that helps calm inflammation.

This eye serum also contains caffeine, an antioxidant that slows down photoaging on the skin and increases microcirculation of the blood, helping to improve skin tone.

Antioxidant Kakadu plum extract helps brighten the skin, targeting dark circles. Microalgae firms and marine ferment targets crepey upper eyelids.

The full-size eye serum comes packaged with a cooling metal applicator to massage and depuff the skin, although the smaller version I tried did not have an applicator.

The serum has a thick serum consistency, so it doesn’t feel like a typical eye cream, but it absorbs easily.

Due to the serum consistency, layering another eye cream (especially one with hyaluronic acid) on top to hydrate and moisturize the eye area is helpful.

I’ve tested this eye serum during both the day and in the evening, and it works well under makeup, too.

I like that this StriVectin eye cream is formulated for 360-degree results, not just for wrinkles or dark circles under the eyes.

As far as improving slackened and crepey skin around the eyes, I haven’t seen a huge difference yet, but I do like the rich formula that would be ideal for those with dry skin and those living in dry climates.

While I think peptides are promising in skincare, I usually reach for a retinol eye cream like this one or this one more often than this eye serum, mostly due to the texture that usually requires additional hydration on top.

It is formulated with StriVectin’s proprietary Gravitite-CF Lifting Complex to lift the skin, improve skin elasticity and smooth the look of horizontal neck lines and sagging.

This anti-wrinkle cream comes in a base of shea butter, rich in antioxidants and soothing ingredients.

A brightening complex of botanical ingredients helps to even out uneven skin tone, while StriVectin’s NIA-114 technology strengthens the skin barrier.

This neck cream is chock full of actives, including a niacin derivative (part of their NIA-114 technology), peptides, a ceramide, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, lactic acid, and soothing bisabolol and panthenol (pro-vitamin B5).

This StriVectin neck cream targets crepey skin and those pesky neck wrinkles and lines. That was reason enough for me to buy the cream. It is very rich and buttery in consistency.

I’ve been applying it to my neck, massaging it in with upward strokes toward my jawline. It’s a fantastic moisturizer for my decollete area as well.

It is super moisturizing, my neck skin texture appears smoother and plumper, and fine lines are softened after the month that I have been using it.

Please note that there is fragrance in this neck cream, which I like, but could be an issue for those with sensitive skin.

The ingredient list reads like an anti-aging facial moisturizer. The cream has a base of rich and moisturizing shea butter, plus murumuru and capuacu butters to soften and smooth the skin.

Jojoba seed extract is rich in Vitamin E, vitamin B Complex, and fatty acids, which firm, tone, and moisturize the skin.

Tetrahydrodiferuloylmethane sounds like a made-up word, but it isn’t.

It is a powdered extract from the turmeric plant that is brightening (helps reduce uneven skin tone), anti-inflammatory, calming and has antioxidant benefits.

Caffeine is an antioxidant that tones the skin, while lactic acid (an alpha hydroxy acid) sloughs away dead skin cells to reveal fresher skin.

The salt form of hyaluronic acid, sodium hyaluronate, hydrates while glycerin, panthenol, and sodium PCA moisturize the skin. Proline helps to combat wrinkles. Aloe soothes the skin.

This tightening cream comes in a tube and has the texture of a lightweight cream. It has a green tea fragrance (which I love) and spreads easily on the skin. It sinks in quickly and leaves zero stickiness or greasiness.

It leaves my skin smooth and soft. I’ve seen a slight improvement in the crepiness on my upper arms after using this for about a month.

Nothing drastic, but I’ve been consistently using it, which I think helps.

This is ideal for warmer months when you don’t want to use a heavy body cream for crepey skin.

If you want to give this a test run without paying the full price, it is also available in a small 0.25 oz size.

Does StriVectin Tighten Skin?

When used consistently, these StriVectin products, especially StriVectin TL Advanced Tightening Neck Cream PLUS and StriVectin Crepe Control Tightening Body Cream, can help to improve the look of aging sagging skin.

StriVectin Review: Final Thoughts

If you are looking for an anti-aging product, StriVectin is a brand that focuses on aging skin.

I really appreciate that they focus on the science behind the formulas and don’t use trendy ingredients or make claims that they can’t back up.

The StriVectin skincare products that I tried are not cheap.

I had mixed results with the products, so I love that you have the ability to try smaller sizes, like the Tightening and Lifting Trio, before purchasing the full size of a Strivectin product for skin aging that may not work for you.

I think that StriVectin does a great job with its firming product formulas for the body:

• The Tightening Neck Cream left my neck and decollete area so silky and improved the look of lines on my neck.
• Crepe Control Tightening Body Cream is my favorite StriVectin product, as it targets aging skin on my arms and legs.

While everyone’s results will vary, who knows, depending on your skin concerns and your skin type, you may find your next holy grail skin care product from this brand.
